WHAT MIGHT A CHILDREN'S SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL PERFORMANCE LOOK LIKE?
In 2021, due to the COVID situation we filmed class performances for "Ill Met By Moonlight" #CSFDream, which means that we're able to share some different examples of pieces with you. The three pieces below were all devised to the same performance focus brief, but add you can see they each look and feel very different as each class and their teachers responded to the story.
*Huge thanks to the staff and pupils at St Matthew's CE Primary School (Stretford), Cavendish Close Junior Academy (Derby) and Christ Church CE Primary School (Eccles) for giving their permission for us to share their work with you and to City Projections, who created the films.
What was the performance focus?
Each of the performances below was based on the same performance focus document. All three had the focus area of 'Puck', meaning they were responsible for telling the story of the mischievous hob-goblin character who is the servant of Oberon (king of the fairies) and causes mayhem by enchanting the various humans who are lost in the woods.
The performance focus document they received had three sections, which were as follows:
Performance Overview

Class Letter

What did the classes create?
